A friend's wife Erin has struggled with mental health issues and alcoholism from time to time. A few years ago it got pretty bad and she was suicidal. She was checked into the Grace unit of the Brainerd hospital and with some counseling she rallied and seemed to be going along pretty well. But with this horrible overreaction to the virus, she was cooped up at home and had been drinking too much and fell into a depression again. Her husband took her to the hospital for some help but even though the mental health unit was empty, they were told they couldn't take her because of the virus. The following morning her 13-year-old son found her hanging in the garage. Tough funeral.

You will never hear about those kind of stories on CNN though. Or any of the network news. Sad sad event.

Suicidal exits are always hard on the people around them.
It takes a long time for the positives of those people memories to come back

it is a rough one . one of my sons friends jumped the first week of quarantine . Strange funeral/visitation 30 minutes long not more than 10 people at a time.

Sad deal. Been saying for quite some time that the so called cure (government over reaction) for covid would kill more people than covid would. And it is not just situations like this one. It is folks not getting routine treatment that they should be getting due to either fear of covid or the medical folks fear of covid shutting down for all but emergencies. Unfortunately, there will never be an accounting for the indirect mortality caused by the panic. It is also unfortunate that the true mortality rate due to covid itself will never be known either.
