theres none of us here with a crystal ball to know exactly how the fur market is gonna be this fall/winter................but ones things for certain......i'm still stringing steel. wildlife management still needs to be maintained.......and most farmers will appreciate you even more...knowing that even in the bad times , you still care................which can pay of handsomely when the market returns..............which it will. but most importantly I trap for the meat..you'd actually surprised at how much meat you can actually stack up, even if you don't trap a whole lot..beaver, coon, muskrat get canned in beef stock..........beaver is really good served over mashed taters....

Some things are more important than making money. Good lord willing I plan to trap til I’m dead and gone wether there is mow h in it or not.

I kind of hope there isnt a market this year, which im sure there wont be. I dont think some guys will go after k9s, which could open up some ground that wasnt last year. And of course ill have to drop a couple coon sets under bridges.

I used to have a good gig selling\trading my home tanned furs walking around the gun shows.
We aren't allowed to have gun shows here in Travis Co. (Austin) Tx, but I think a guy could
still have a little fun and make a few bucks doing it. The gun vendors would buy cause they are kind of
stuck at their tables, making money. Some of the ladies would buy a nice fox hide to display their
jewelry etc. on.

Public opinion polls show a lot of support for trapping for conservation purposes. I will continue to trap regardless of prices.

pretty sad if you cant find land to trap now land owners like free its like your paying them to let you trap when you figure your loss on trapping expenses and your time doing it its a win win for land owners for you to catch a coon you think you are smarter than lol

Trapped every season for 55 years, I am going to trap this year too!

Bad fur market kills the longliner/high numbers trappers. Trappers that check a few sets b4 work....market not much of an issue.....help out those farmers...

This coming season will be my first real trapping season, I set a dp at the end of last season and caught 4 coons. I know I wont get rich trapping, but trapping is a very effective wildlife conservation tool. It's fun, it's addicting, you can make a few bucks, and you can make a few friends along the way.

You don't think keeping supply up, helps keep the market flooded? What just occurred at the last FHA sale? And will occur at the next? They can't even give the fur away.

I love to be out in the fall woods,creeks, swamps, and fields. I might not lay as much steel down, but will still be out there doing what I love and communing with God's creation.
