I have a rough rider 22 revolver for trap line. Not too bad if I loose it not like using a ruger. Anyway I tried everything on front sight to see it. I put glow in dark paint . Model paint with super glue on blade. And paint with apoxy on blade. After u put in holster a few times it takes it off. Only Idea i got is to buy one with adjustable trueglow sights.

Use florescent orange paint once it dries cover it in clear nail polish, won't last forever but it works pretty good

You can get a little brass rod and file the sight down the thickness of the rod then solder it on. On a trapline gun plumbing solder would be fine.

How do you solder brass to steel? i like the idea of a piece of brass.

How far of shots are y’all taking? I have the Ruger Wrangler with basically the same sights and can hit where I aim out to 30ft, but most of my shots are less than 6ft.

Yes I wear glasses. I run my traps at 3am before work. A skunk sometimes are hard to hit with my light. I have uncle Mike's holster. I used the paint and finger nail polish. It last me about a day. Would a gunsmith have something to fix it with. I did take a little file. Rough the front sight up a little. It lasted a week.

Soldering is super easy. I'd use a propane torch and get a tub of flux instead of flux core solder. There are plenty of YouTube videos that can show you better than I could explain it. You will have to touch up the bluing but only in the blade if you're quick. You can file the rod to the width of the sight blade when you're done or open up the rear sight.

If you get extra you can practice on a scrap of steel.

Just don't forget you need to remove the hight of the brass from the sight blade first or you'll be shooting low.

bobcat trapper, I have the same set up with an uncle mike holster. Make sure and sand or scrape the bluing from the area on the front sight you want to paint. I i only did the front edge of mine. Clean the area with alcohol tape of what you don't want paint on. I used white fingernail polish and clear fingernail polish to cover. I put on the first coat and took a blow dryer to it till it dried. It gets hot too. I applied two coats of white and two coats of clear drying in between coats with the blow dryer. Touch it to test before you apply the next coat make sure its not sticky to the touch. This is what I did and mine has lasted for two seasons of abuse. Hope this helps.

Bob cat roughing it up a little will help a little as you found out. What I was referring to was actually cutting serration like are found on the back side of many front sights. This keeps the paint below the level of the steel an out of contact with the holster. Another thing that will work. If the front sight is a “half moon” , with the muzzle pointing to the right. File a small flat at where 11–11:30 would be. Center punch where you want the bead to be. Use a drill press and a 1/16 bit carefully start a hole but only till you get to the width of the bit. Clean with carb cleaner or acetone. Use a single wire from some multi strand electrical wire as a paint applicator put a tiny droplet
In the hole you started. If you’re careful you can get a very round front dot that should last for years I use testors model enamel.
