Found a reservoir where there is supposed to be some crappie near me and am going to give it a shot. I haven't fished for them in years. Weather had been low 80s for about a week then dropped to mid 60s last 2 days. Should be back to mid 70s by the weekend with a storm coming in on Sunday.

What type area would you start looking in ?

I would start looking in spawning areas, shallow bays with brush and weeds. somewhere between 50-70 degrees

Saw your post and stopped on my way home. Twin dart rig, lift and drop slowly. Caught 2 small ones in a handful of casts.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Ive caught my fair share the past few years and havent broken the 12 inch mark. Either i suck or we dont have many around these parts. There is something about the way they bite that makes em fun though, even if the ones i find arent huge. Someday i wanna go to where i can get a 15-16 incher. Itll be mounted.

x2
My go to is vertical jigging but not overly fast next to structure until I find the right depth. After that I usually plan to fill a 5 gal bucket or hopefully 2.

Jimbo- are you trying to make us jealous 'cause that's how you make us jealous right there.
