Hey would you tell the seller that a rifle that he has listed on Gunbroker.com is a different model # than the what he has it listed as? I'm watching a rifle that should go for $1,200 - $1,400 and is only bring $500. I'm thinking about buying it to resell and make a little money. It's a Pawn Shop that should know better what model they have. Your thoughts?

I'm not familiar enough with how gun broker works from a seller's standpoint. If you tell them, can they change the listing or delete it?

If you walked into the pawn shop and that rifle was on the shelf with a $500 price tag, would you offer them $1,200 for it, or do your best to keep a straight face as you counted out 5 benjamins?

I’ve bought and sold on there. I’d say 90% of listing mistakes aren’t in the buyers favor. I sold a rifle on there for my buddy, a guy bought and received it. Promptly called and told me the safety didn’t work. I made it right with the guy, but I could of strangled my “pal”. I always make a phone call when buying.

So the description doesn't match the picture? Which ones right? The picture or the description? You wont know what your buying until you call them.

If it was a private individual, I might be tempted to help them out with a little information. But if the seller is a profit making enterprise like a pawn shop, I would feel no inclination to help them out and would have no conflict with taking personal advantage of their mistake. They've already priced the object for sale at a price where they can make a profit. If they are happy to sell at that price, and you are happy to buy at that price, it is a good deal for both parties.

Bound by everlasting bands?
None shall take thee
From the Strength of Israel's hands.

If a pawn shop is selling it for 500 they probably paid 250, ide buy it. Buyer beware though, when a deal seems to good to be true...

when it is a pawn shop , I guarantee they are not loosing money on it . so I guess I don't feel bad if they make their money on it and someone else gets a deal.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I was in favor of letting the seller know until you said the word Pawn Broker. He loaned a guy who couldn't pay his rent $200 at 30% interest and took the gun as collateral. When the owner couldn't pay back the loan, the pawn broker put the gun up for sale.

I'd just buy the gun for $500 if and only if I could see the gun in person to verify that the seller is being honest about what he's selling.

Here in KS I believe they have 90 days to pay. I don't know what the interest rate is but I am sure the guy borrowing money on or maybe selling to the pawn shop agreed to terms or price. I would call the seller to see which was accurate. The picture or the stated model.

If it’s in a pawn shop they will make money on it. If it’s the model you think it is and worth what you think it is jump
On it.
I once called on a Browning Gold 10 guage auto with two chokes and two boxes of shells for $550 OBO
When I asked what was wrong with it the guy said nothing , he had had a lot of calls but no one had come to see it. I told him I had twenty bucks in my pocket and a $500 daily limit on the ATM and it was after bank hrs. The twenty had to go in the fuel tank and if he was willing to take $500 and it was in as good of shape as he said, consider it sold. He said come and get it. It was about 98-99% and functions flawlessly. The exact same shotgun was selling @ wholesale for over $1500 at one of my suppliers. FFL licensee at the time. The week before that I bought a Remington SP10 with 3 chokes for $650 like new, wholesale $1280. So deals can be had if you keep your eyes and ears open.

They are both geese killing machines especially with my high speed steel hand loads.

Well to let everybody know I won the bid on the rifle. The guy had it listed as a Browning BBR, but it was a Browning High Power Safari Grade 300 Win. Mag in about 96-98 %. I looked it up in last year blue book of gun's book and it's listed as $1,475.00 I paid only $595 + $50 shipping. It also has a nice leather sling, base plate/rings, the scope is junk in my opinion.

A lot of good looking wood in your pic between the stock and floors! Nice rifle.

awesome dude. glad it worked out.

i know a guy that bought a harley on ebay like that.

They just had it listed as a Harley Street Glide or whatever be he recognized it was a custom bike from a famous shop so he bid on it and when he woke up he had won it.

Turns out it was Ben Afflecs old bike and he had donated it to charity and the charity didn't have it quit listed right. win win for everyone.

I liked that bike b/c I new Jennifer Garner had been on the back of it. Drool...

again, good job on the rifle!

Lol, how's that a win when you beat a charity?

I just hope that it isn't a "salt wood era" rifle.

I have nothing clever to put here.
