Sweet looking rocks. What do the Lake Superior agates look like?

Nice looking rocks. My aunt was a geologist and a geology teacher back in the 60’s and when she passed away I got all of her rocks, probably because I was a big arrowhead collector. I have three big boxes full and have no idea what some of them are or if they’re worth anything. I figured one day I would take them somewhere to be appraised or something.

Very cool. Oh boy do I have a friend you’d like. He’s back in Oregon. He has recently picked up some “fordite” to play around with. His bread and butter is knife scales.

My son brought back some colored rocks from Glacier Nat Park in Montana

Some Lake Superior agates. My brother works in gravel pits and finds a lot of them.

On a coyote hunt in northwest Nevada years ago my buddy and I met these two brothers who had driven from Louisiana to get some fire opals from a mine there. They dug for one day, got a few, and drove back to Louisiana.

That's being a rockhound I guess.

Beautiful pictures.

Pete
