We can't shoot them and can't use lights.

Go here for a look at all State's current regulations. Click here Looks like things are pretty much the same in OK "In the state of Oklahoma for the 2020 frog gigging season, there is a limit of 15 bullfrogs per day that may be taken per person.".

Seasons too. Frogs enjoy no legal protection here in Ga.

In these swamps there are so many that you cannot hear anything but frogs if you're near water during warmer weather

Plus, here in the south...where you hear/see frogs is where the cottonmouths are....just about everywhere there is water. As a kid we gigged and shot bullfrogs with .22. Most nights we killed more cottonmouths than frogs.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

We should have a frog leg recipe thread, I used to date a girl that put them over linguini and smothered them with white sauce and it was almost heaven

That sounds pretty good leftlane. We got 42 legs now but I am thinking of frying some fish with them and keeping some frog legs back to try different recipes with. Go see if you can find that ol girl and her recipe. It sure sounds good.

I bought a gig a few weeks back but need to find a pole. Any suggestions on a good pole? Haven't been in probably 30 years.

Its dam good.
You got a good mess of them so experimenting would be easy right now. Plus if you eat them all your posesion limit goes back to zero.
Im no chef but if you cut the small 'calf muscle' into small round sections then put the white to it (or vodka sauce) you will swear it was small sea scallops in your mouth.

In fact, while I was typing this you just inspired a new idea. If I separate the thighs and Cajun cook them they will be like chicken wings on a plate. Then, I would still have those smaller muscles to make basically the meal of a lifetime. Thanks man LOL- now Im hungry again

Oh and fresh or frozen peas go in with the white sauce and small cuts of frog legs. If I try vodka sauce maybe mushrooms or even olives might work

22 short hollow points. But also carry a gig makes it easier to retrieve.,

Oh forgot to mention if 10 ft section not long enough get some that is threaded just use coupling and add more to suit. I took a 10 ft piece and cut it and threaded it so I can take it apart and transport it easier !!!

I had some painter's poles left over from when I built my house so I used the one that existed. Never had to extend it but if I need too I could have. The conduit will work though.
