I renewed my membership the other day. Hopefully others join WCI. Strength in numbers. It's a good organization. They have a website & facebook page if you are interested.

excellent group here in Wisconsin , has done a lot with getting legal support to the cases that will make gun law better in WI. and really calls out things when they are wrong.

they are one of the only groups providing no cost CCL training.

The Wisconsin carry law is a mixed blessing. At least it was initially.

The good thing is that it is easy to get.

The bad thing is that it is too easy to get. Other states don't want to honor it.

So, I am curious. Is that still the case? and if so, is this organization doing anything to improve it.

No such thing as too easy to get. All states should be constitutional carry

Someone is ignoring the problem. Until all states are on the same page, the problem does exist. The only way around it is to get permitted from a state that is more difficult, and, therefore, more universally accepted. Even adding a Utah, and Florida permit won't cover all states.

OK, there is another way. That is to not cross the border.

Constitutional carry is still as likely as a vaccine for C19

I just checked the current reciprocity states for a WI permit. Not bad at all. Not nearly as restrictive as I remember. Neighboring Minnesota still doesn't recognize it, but, pretty much all of the states that recognize MN, also recognize WI. I withdraw my concern.

Well said PETE

I should also mention that it's only $10 to join and they won't hound you with mail, email, and donation requests.

I disagree Steven. In Alaska we have both "Constitutional carry" and the state issues a permit that requires, fingerprints, background check, class time and range qualification.

Since I carry everywhere I go, I do have the Alaska permit that many states honor. But there are states like Washington & Oregon that don't honor the AK permit because AK residents enjoy constitutional carry when in AK.

I also am licensed by Utah. That allows me to carry in WA....where I used to own property, but not Oregon and of course not CA....where I still have family. No carry ??? no family visits.

EDIT:
I just noticed your "all states should be CC" I agree with that !

I've never listened to WCI's 'Well Armed Radio,' but it sounds interesting.

Chairman Nik Clark has been our leader since I joined, and I've been a member a long time. He does a good job.

I always feel like this is $10 well spent every year.

This year's annual meeting is going to be on Zoom. I think that's good.

Please consider joining WCI if you aren't already a member.
