I know that as trappers we over all are a cheap bunch. That being said some times you get what you pay for. About 3 years ago I started having trouble staying warm while deer hunting in a tree stand. I hunt the whole season including muzzle loader and late bow season also I hunted northern Ontario and will be again this year. Last year I bought a some what expensive parka and bibs from Bass pro I'm not impressed with the quality of the outfit it gets crunchy in the cold. I have great base layers and decent mid layer has anyone tried the high end sitka gear? I hate to just go and spend more money but i would hate more to not hunt as long as I do now.During the Canadian trip I sat dawn to dusk for 6 days including 3 that never reached 10 degrees. I'm open to any ideas. Just not the one from my wife that I just stay home and help around the house more. Thanks

If you hunt cold weather, spend the money and get GOOD goose DOWN, not a mix of down and feathers.

I really like wool pants as an outer layer. I am probably not sitting for long periods. They are warm, even when wet or damp. Good if wading in snow. Hunt Northern Ontario , a lot. old243

If I could afford it, (can’t 😕) I’d check out Sleeping Indian or King of the Mountain.

Have you looked into a heater body suit? If you are just sitting in a stand and not moving around I think a suit will be more effective than Sitka.

Do you guys use a heater body suit in a tree stand?

I’m a believer in wool, but then again I mostly still hunt. I use the big bill line from gostwear. They have pants, coats and vests. And I never get cold anymore

So often it's the hands that get cold

I'd start by trying to find about three head covers first. Then two Hot Hands body warmers on the kidneys. I do have a heater body suit but only break it out when temps dropping below zero. Its not just for a week hunt. I hunt most of 2 1/2 months. I'm 65.
