Check out Wisdom. I buy it from Tractor Supply. It is fairly safe to apply around the yard and around animals. It works great on mosquito's and takes down ticks in the yard.

permethrin many forms of delivery.

I have a fenced yard for the dogs , it started as fenced for my son , kid would run for the road every time I turned around. It gave his mother night mares so I got to build a fence .

other than the garden I spray everything inside the fence I can generally do it with 2 of the sprayers that attach to the hose the fenced area is 115x120 I also get a few feet outside the fence

they may have 25 acre but don't have to spray it all , mow paths to walk and spray the path and a few feet each side.

buy a jug of permithrin concentrate and mix 2 gallon batches to hang the cloths on the line and spray.

you can also wash the dog in permethin use a concentrate on kennel areas around buildings and out buildings

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Sevin (active ingredient is carbarl, the same stuff for your garden plants) has been around a long time and is registered for lawn application. An excellent tick killer. Like so many insecticides it breaks down with rain so it must be reapplied regularly. It is registered for pets and I shake some Sevin dust in the dog house bedding about 3 or 4 times a year. Fleas become extra active during mating season (the fall) so having it applied in September/October usually lasts for a winter. It is not a repellent so flies and mosquitoes will still be a concern. Permetherin will work also but is slower acting and I prefer Sevin as there is no picking ticks off the dogs since they get a dusting every day they are in their bedding material. Currently have 9 hunting dogs and have had as many as 13. After a training session they head for their house and get a treatment, low impact application.

We went from ticks on us in the 50's and the cats covered, to just a few on the cats and none on us, in just having a few chickens and one muscovy duck. None of the farms had ticks when we were kids, because everyone had chickens. I also do not have grasshoppers, locusts. Just box elder bugs which nothing eats.
Trap the predators, get chickens, and the ticks disappear.

Chickens and ducks clean up the ticks here.
