So I made some bait to day for coyotes here’s the ingredients

8 mice chopped up (I don’t own a grinder yet)
Salt to preserve it
MB salmon oil
4 sprays from a spray bottle of F&T red fox urine
And probably 4 table spoons of bacon grease

The bait smells like a coyote Big Mac. Do y’all think it will work? I just threw it together so I’m not for certain it’s any good

Try it and see is all a guy can do really.

That was my plan.

3 quarters,2 dimes and a nickel is still a dollar,thats just my opinion though.

Seriously, I think you have a decent chance with your bait. As Law Dog mentioned, the only way to tell is to just give it a try.

The only thing I would add is a couple drops of skunk musk, particularly for cold weather use.

I don’t have any skunk essence I would have added some but oh well. As far as taste I would say it tasted like m&ms

I like mice and bacon. The rest of it depends on the quality of the other ingredients. But my guess is it will provide enough attraction to catch some coyotes.

Coyotes around here don't go for bacon or mice in my tests so I wouldn't use it but may work for you.

If you have done a reasonable good job of testing those two things and that is a fair analysis im starting to wonder how regional coyotes preferences are. My coyotes tell me the opposite.....???

When testing baits, do you go to an untrapped area to test? Or maybe go to a place that hasn’t been trapped that much?
I just think testing at my main area would be worthless. If they were abundant I’d probably be catching them more regularly.

I gave my opinion of rap music the other day at work and dang near started a fight..sheesh! As far as your concoction, try it and find out. I used mice I rotted down in Oregon and it worked great.. at least for the few coyote sets I had out.

I test in both. One of the benefits of testing sets, lures, and baits is you learn everything isn't always quite what you think or what you have been told. I think most of us might be surprised how many coyotes are left when we are done trapping.

I've had a natural attraction from almost every fur-bearer here with bacon grease. Test holes they will dig until there's nothing left. The mice I have been working with the last couple of years and I'm not sure if you guys have badgers? When I try to run mice here it will catch coyotes/fox but I have a hard time keeping the badgers out.

The coyote bait recipe sounds great to me.

Opinion; any one of those ingrediances may be attractive to a coyote under the right conditions, so the combination might work. If so you will never know which smell created the attraction. Considerable testing would be required to determine if the combination consistently catches coyote, and comparative testing to see how it stacks up against other proven baits.
