Never mind, I did some looking, you only need a permit if harvesting for commercial reasons, not for personal use. That clarifies it a bit for me.
But I won’t disagree on the stupidity of certain things. I’m not allowed to travel 50 miles north to our cabin yet people from Alberta are all over my area fishing right now. But our provincial Conservative govt has drawn a line saying nobody north. So, I can’t go 50 miles north but inst ad have to share the boat launch here with out of province guys who’ve travelled 200 miles. Stupidity isn’t unique to your provincial liberals, look at our conservatives.

The general public is going to learn the hard way that the Government gets the money for all of the social programs they love so much from the hardworking taxpayer / business owners. Going to be a lot less people paying those taxes before this is over. A lot of programs will have to be cut. Here in Yukon our annual federal transfer payment is north of 1 billion dollars and our population is under 40,000 people. The vast majority of those 40k people produce or provide nothing for society, because they are on the government payroll.

A friend of my dad's has been going to the same place near Ignace, Ontario for the last 15 years or so, always the first weekend in June. Not this year. I've gone with them a few times, it's always fun and I'm usually sick of fishing by the end of the week! I used to fish up there at a place called Cozy Camp on the english river. Just curious if it was the same place

I hope your right, but I lost hope people will learn. I think the mysterious drones all over the country have been dropping fairy dust which is making everybody lose their minds. I mean all over the place. Both U.S. and Canada politicians have gone off the rails. None of it makes a bit of sense.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.

A permit for mushroom picking? What’s up with that? I was thinking the same thing... Do they tax the air they breath?

HHmmmm,,that kinda sucks and don't sound like a lot of Canada freedom. We have jerk off Governors here that are doing the same type of thing.
