How many states have a Sportsman’s type license that bundles deer, turkey, fishing etc. and is trapping included in that package?

Only sportsman type package in Illinois I know of is a combo hunting/fishing license which is a dollar or two cheaper. May be others I don’t know of but I mostly trap and do some waterfowl hunting.

WV does,says hunting/trapping/fishing. Several dollars cheaper.

We do here in Arkansas. The trapper's permit is free but you have to request it.

As you know kytrapper no breaks on Ky trapping license. Senior and disable still have to buy a separate liscense .

In KY, land owners has to buy a license to trap their own land.

Va. is separate. Sportsman lic is $100 for hunting and fishing with all your tags.
Fishing and trout stamp included. I got mine last year and started trout fishing
again. I wouldn't pay $23 just to fish for trout when they stock in the middle
of the week and all the non workers would have them caught out by the weekend.
Me and my boys have done pretty good this year. First time in 15 years that I had
fished for'em.

We have 2 combo licenses in Wisconsin, Sports and Patron. Sports is just deer, small game and fishing. Patron is just about everything, and includes trapping.

NC excludes trapping and some mountain trout waters. Not sure about state game lands. Salt water fishing is grandfathered for early lifetime licenses, but newer rules require them.

Resident fees are not cheap in SD a hunt and fish combo, with trapping and State duck stamp is almost $100 and no big game is in there for that $100. It’s another $45 per deer tag, $25 for each turkey tag and a elk tag can cost $300.

I get a $15 discount for being 65 now.

Being discussed at wildlife committee meeting today to include trapping in with the Sportsmans license and reducing the non resident trapping license cost down to what a Kentucky trapper pays to trap. I have minor concerns that this will reduce known trapper numbers due to many trappers buying Sportsmans license and someone that doesn’t know how to trap that finds a Blake and lamb 44 in grandpas barn and goes out and hangs a chicken over it.

I would share the concern that it could be used either way to skew numbers.

WI conservation patron includes it but you check the box when you purchase and your DNR customer number carries your hunters ed and trappers ed certifications.

honesty in numbers is good.

we are presently dealing with a multi use trail the DNR appears to have used the total trail passes sold state wide as the use number for the bike trail. bad numbers cause much pain.

I buy the sportsman license every year here in Tennessee and it covers everything to include trapping. The only other thing you need is a federal duck stamp if waterfowl hunting. It’s up to $170 now, keeps going up 5 bucks a year. TN has separate licenses for archery, muzzleloader and gun for deer hunting so if you do all three and you also fish and trap you’re better off with the one sportsman license.

We have a Sportsman license that covers everything except the Federal Duck Stamp and trapping license.
The BAD part is you have to download the application, fill it out, and send it off through the mail with a copy of your drivers license...every year! It’s only $45 but you’d think they’d make it online like every other license we have.

Trapping is seperate here in Maine

Not Mississippi. We have to buy it in addition to our sportsman's license. We also have to buy salt water fishing. Our trapping license has a unique number that has to go on our trap tags.
