Ok, got one of those Whole Woodshop Dust Collection Systems with 30 feet of 2 1/2 inch clear plastic pipe and the connectors , blast gates, etc. ; but I can't figure out if the dang pipe needs to be grounded with copper wire. If it does, do I have to run copper wire through ALL 30 feet of the pipes ???

confused

You want the entire length grounded so that it does not build up static charge.

yes run a wire through it , you can build up enough static with all that air that you can cook the electronics on some of the new equipment

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Yes. Wire must be bare.

I have worked in an engineered lumber mill for the last 20+ years. Anywhere nonmetallic dust collection hose is used we spiral wrap a bare copper ground around the dust pipe and bond to ground. It doesn’t have to be #12 it could be #18 or 20. Make sure to bond all metal fittings in the run as well t’s el’s etc.
