Anybody ever use it for firewood?

It's wood, it'll burn,
I burned lots of wood over the years, the free cut up stuff by the side of the road was the best, no matter the type.....lol

So long as its dry will burn.

I take down 8-10 a year and save the big pieces for the wood furnance.

Had lightening hit one here....burned well....sweet smell too.

Don't know about firewood but I've burned a ton of it that keeps trying to invade my property. The stuff is a weed.

This is true but not all wood will heat the same.


Took one down yesterday and before I hauled to the cabin was hoping someone had already burned some and could give it reference.

Any fruit tree wood makes good firewood.

Bradford pear wood is dense, heavy and burns similar to oak and better than cherry. It is great wood to grill on.

I had a huge Bradford pear split in half at my old house in Dayton.

The city I grew up in, Springdale, planted Bradford pears in front of your house for free, if you wanted them to. Early snows and strong winds broke hundreds of Bradford pears in that neighborhood. We burnt lots of them.

I probably did 25 years ago when mine started splitting and falling. Some split after a thunderstorm, some after a sleet storm, and one split on a bluebird day.

That sounds good to me.
