I started trapping after deer season last year and will probably do the same this season. Just too many guys in the woods on the public land around here during rifle. Hoping to run a mink line first of December then start trapping beaver and otter around Christmas. I hunt every free day grouse woodcock and ducks with my dog all fall, planning to start deer hunting again this year after a long absence.

For me trapping has displaced much of my ice fishing efforts. I'm not sure I'll ever get as pumped about sitting on a bucket on the ice again knowing I could be snowshoeing into a beaver pond to set snare poles. Fishing buddies think I've lost my mind.

Hunt more like I do every year. Most landowners want trapping started after deer season. Plantations want trapping done after quail season unless we go a couple weeks straight with no hunts.

Hunting has slowed down since I started trapping.....

When life gets me down..... you know hunting/trapping season is closed.

Didnt know there was a difference.Always did both together.Never pass up meat for the pot when trapping.I almost never shoot fur as I know I can trap it.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

I start deer hunting at the end of August, then stop deer on Oct. 16th to trap fox and wolves for a week or so, then deer hunt until early December, then start trapping again till middle of March.

Cold as ice!

Trapping. I've been in a funk the past several seasons, but when I get the trapping bug, it's all trapping. I used to live for hunting, until I started catching stuff in my traps, then hunting was only something to do if I was bored. I still enjoy hunting squirrels several times a year, and if we had pheasants here I would definitely make time to hunt them. I'll shoot a deer if the freezer needs one, but I kind of consider it more of a chore, lol. Following a coon hound is great fun a few times a year.

Trapping always- worked on trapping yesterday cutting wood stakes for fall. I like hunting but I'll take any kind of trapping over hunting.

Just passin through

Definitely trapping, I still do a little hunting but it’s usually just to kill time and be in the woods before trapping season starts
