Was having issues with the 2.4 in my wife's 1986.5 D21 Nissan.

Problem solved.

I like it. Just add 4 extra cylinders and the problem is solved. The distributor is in the wrong location in that engine though.

I thought about replacing the engine but all tests indicate that the engine is OK. Also the truck is 4wd and I don't want to mess with that front end connections. The manual also says that if you are going to remove the engine, leave it attached to the tranny and remove it as one unit.

I WOULD like to have a carbureted engine rather than the throttle body injection.

DaveP..........did you just eliminate the computer when you installed the V8 ?

Mine was originally a CA truck and has every emission device known to man on it.

Computer?
Back to basics here, 1 wire to starter, 1 to coil, and 1 from from alt back to battery.

My sons were making fun of me for going with the carb.
Should've seen the looks I got when I pulled the HEI distributer ( wouldn't clear firewall) and broke out and old points and condenser unit, LOL)

Tried explaining if I use a dial points dist, I can wire each set independently and run one 4-6 degrees retarded.
That way, don't need to adust timing every when running nitrous, just switch to retarded points.

Good luck White, I get REALLY frustrated with modern electronics and control.
Mostly cause I don't understand them and too thick headed to learn!

I look under the hood and can't even identify most of what I see. Then I go look under the hood of my 66 Chevy and feel a lot better about myself !

A 200 pound person. Hanging in the end of a 3 foot breaker bar, or a 300 pound person on a 2 foot breaker bar.

When the boys drop in your boots and your rotator cuffs tear.
