What should I use for bait piles for coyotes. I would prefer a cheap and easy one to get! Thanks

Find a source for roadkill deer. Here in the us it is usually the highway dept. and it is free if you pick them up from them or for them.

One thing the great late jhonny Thorpe used to do is hang a beer can up wind of a trail . He'd just find a tree limb with some decent height and tie a beer can to it with some string or fishing line if I remember correctly. Anyhow inside the can he'd put some dead minnows. Basically as they decomposed it would creat a call lure and anycritter down wind of on the trip would come and check it out from time to time. I've experimented doing the same here. I'd go and find a tree up wind of a thicket which can be an acre or larger easy, and set up one if these can on a limb. And with in a few days I had fox coons and coyotes come up pretty frequently to sniff around. Wish I still had the trail cam footage . Anyhow might be an idea for you

Beaver carcasses work well where I am.I have access to tons from the trapline.
It doesnt take too many for a couple hundred pound baitpile.I maintain several baitpiles some large and some smaller, and keep them going with the skinned carcasses from the trapline.Nothing goes to waste in nature. If you can its best to put the animals back into the foodchain-it increases the carrying capacity of your trapline.
You could also check any of the local butchers.Trappers have done well with butcher scraps for bait.

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

beaver makes a great bait pile. i never have enough. have everything in place when you put them out. Birds will eat a lot of it. When the coyotes come in they will clean up 8-10 in a couple nights

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)
