I guess its better late than never.

I always look for and am willing to pay more for American made stuff.

Good to see some of you are starting to open your eyes.

Yes, it may cost you more but in the end it'll improve life in this country.
Having more stuff does not mean you have a better life.

Buying American made is hard sometimes! But well worth the effort. If I can't find made in USA, I'll look for it made by a allied democracy, (e.g. Canada, UK, Japan, etc.). I spent the last half of my military career trying to figure out how to kill members of a certain communist competitor's military on a large scale. I'll be darned if I'll help them fund that military. Furthermore, I can't think of any item where "made in China" is a badge of quality. It kind of ruins my day when I'm compelled to purchase something made in China. Thank you Moosetrot for the key to bar codes. Very enlightening.

This is our right to know, but the government and related departments never educate the public, therefore we have to RESCUE ourselves.

Nowadays, Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products "MADE IN CHINA", so they don't show from which country it is made.

However, you may now refer to the barcode - remember if the first 3 digits are:

690-692 ... then it is MADE IN CHINA
00 - 09 ... USA & CANADA
30 - 37 FRANCE
40 - 44 GERMANY
471 ... Taiwan
49 ... JAPAN
50 ... UK

With all due respect to the poster, I will throw the BS flag on the barcode information.

A fact check shows this report from this year, " A product's barcode numbers don't reveal its country of origin. Prefixes for product numbers are assigned to individual manufacturers based on a set of country codes, but the products could be made anywhere. Apr 23, 2020 "

Fact: I am looking at a phone I recently bought that says " Made In China " and the first three numbers of the barcode are 169.

Country of origin labeling is very confusing at the least as so many exceptions and deals exist that it is virtually impossible to confirm where a product is made.

Sit on your horse on top of a ridge, look out across the country and tell me there is no God.

Don't shoot the messenger, Cedar Hacker...this is something that was forwarded to me and figured might be of use to folks on here. Did not take the time to check on the veracity of the information, nor will I take the time.

Smaller American companies should include a small American flag along with "made in the USA" in their ad. After this fiasco I hope politicians specify ALL ppe to made in the USA.

Since Cosco has moved to Fairbanks I have purchased items from there and returned because their stuff is junk China stuff. My new name for Cosco is Chinaco. Anyone else have the same experience.

I agree with you, OH Snap. I don't have a Costco membership so I don't have the first hand experience that you do. You can be glad they gave you your money back.

We too shop at Costco, but just food. The only food from China I've ever found in Alaska are apple juice, apple sauce, canned mandarin oranges, and frozen chum salmon fillets. There may be more.
