Anyone in the Indianapolis area know how to and have built multiple ARs ? Not rocket science it’s a 20 minute deal once you know where the parts go.

It's not as intimidating as it seems. A set of roll pin punches ($20), an AR-15 admirers wrench ($30) and the book The AR-15 Complete Assembly Guide, Volume 2 by Walt Kuleck with Clint McKee and you'll be set.

You would have to work overtime to mess up the way they were designed we are talking about a handful of parts and everything has its place.

Thanks ,but I rather not do my first gun build from YouTube videos. Don't want to make a mistake the could hurt myself or others. ever put new Shoes on drum brakes , that is 10X harder than building an AR lower and 99.99% more likely to hurt someone. I won't call it Idiot proof , but you would have to be seriously deviating from any acceptable use of tools to hurt people the only place your likely to break any thing is the trigger guard ears , and a deck of old playing cards fixes that. they are PFC resistant I was going to post you a you tube video , that I thought was very good to build . but it was so apparently so good youtube took it down not wanting to spread that kind of freedom of information.

You arent building anything. You are assembling milspec parts. You have to work real real hard to mess something up. Only thing i can think of you might do wrong is put in a hammer spring backwards. It will work backwards just not as well. SO go nuts.

If you cant watch a youtube video of how to do it and be able to assemble things in the proper order you might be better off buying one assembled.

If you cant watch a youtube video of how to do it and be able to assemble things in the proper order you might be better off buying one assembled. It's not just putting it together, it's that they're so many manufacturers of all these parts and made out off this and that material I mean how many different kinds of 16" barrels are out there, just don't know where to start. I'm sure I could put one together but there has to be parts out there that might be considered low quality.

I am self taught from youtube videos as I didn't have anyone to teach me. Just have to find the real gun guys on youtube and then just pay attention and be sober when building. They're easier to assemble than you might think.

Build a lower first. then buy a complete upper. After your first one of these then build a second lower then build a complete upper. Enough of the kits.
