Ark Trapper OP trapper A Joined: Dec 2006 Posts: 841 GRAVETTE ARK	Have never wanted anything to do with an AR however with the current events I bought one yesterday. It's a ruger 223/5.56nato. Where is the best place to buy bulk ammo and would you buy 223 or the 5.56. Found some 223 locally 820 rounds for 400.00 buy or pass. Be safe

I prefer soft points but you pay more America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

maintenanceguy trapper Joined: Mar 2019 Posts: 1,497 Southern NJ	.223 is standardized by SAAMI (Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers' Institute). 5.56 is a military round and is not standardized. Manufacturer's of 5.56 MIGHT load their ammo hot - but I don't think any do. More powder costs more money. If you look at the velocity, .223 and 5.56 seem to be the same. I just buy .223 even though my rifle is rated for both. -Ryan

It can really screw up the price you have to watch that.
