When its 4 a.m. and still in the 90's, humidity at 85-90%, driving with A/C on will fog up the inside of your windshield if you dont let your vehicle idle awhile first. Takes a few minutes for the A/C to remove the humidity. Kinda like waiting for the defroster to clear your window in the winter.

I never knew what a dew point was until I arrived here. 50 comfortable. 60 harsh. I live where the humidity may be low but with a dew point of 70 something... goodness, goodness.

James, if your entire family relocates to Texas it will be ok. Mine did.

Krug, the ones with seeing eye dogs think I am cute. Shhhhh
Strangest thing ever happened to me was in Canada one night headed for Toronto. Old man with sunglasses and a dog, came into the men's room and asked me to help line him up on an urinal. Later as I was eating, I got to wondering how he got there. Nobody ever joined him at his table. Do you think I was set up ? Or should I ask Boco about this ?

Our son is talking about taking our grandkids away to a little town called Henderson. He has friends there, and wants to get his new internet business going some place where the cost of living is low.
Is there anything in that country besides oil derricks and alligators?
Jim Hello James, Henderson is actually what I would consider more northeast Texas. I work in that area a lot and drive through Henderson regularly. Other large towns nearby include Tyler, Longview, and Marshall. There are a lot of coal strip mines in the area surrounding Henderson and many of the locals work in both the oil and coal industry. Its a fairly sizable town with a Tractor Supply, Lowes, and Home Depot. Believe it or not there is actually a pretty good taco shop there as well called Lilly's Tacos. The lady that opened it (Lily) is from the Valley and her menu is good south Texas cuisine; something hard to get in that part of Texas. The main Mexican food chain in that area is called Jalapeno Tree and it is fairly good as well. IMO, because you are farther north there is less alligators there than in southeast Texas; however, they still occur in the creeks, sloughs, and bayous. Humidity and mosquitos are still awful there though and convectional pop up thunderstorms occur on a regular basis in the summer.....adding to the humidity. Recreationally, your son will be close to Caddo Lake (the only natural lake in Texas) and it is a really nice place to visit, kayak, fish, or just see. There is also nearby Lake of the Pines. He will also be a quick drive across the border to Shrevport/Bossier City if they want to do a little gambling or go the Bass Pro Shops in Bossier. Although, I don't care for gambling Shreveport Area has some pretty good restaurants and the Bass Pro there has some live alligators in the mote outside. There is also the nearby Boardwalk for shopping and such. There is some pretty good catfishing in the Sabine River and other adjoining creeks/sloughs in the area.

Mark that’s not good. If Texas goes blue we will never Elect a republican again Not issues of IF any longer but when. Once Texas and Florida fall in the electoral college, political races as we currently know them are over.

IDK, maybe 4 or 5 pounds. They don't yield any 50 or 60 percent I can tell you. A good snake is gone in 2 meals but then my metabolism is high LOL
Jim, tell the whole family I recommend angle hair pasta or frilly noodles with blackened snake and white sauce. If they wanna do authentic Texan, the can shave the biggest spines off a few prickly pears and sprinkle Jalapeno seeds over the top but I don't need a lot of foo foo on a good dish. Salt and pepper is fine and if you run low on pepper black powder is the seasoning of choice while we watch looters & rioters git out of hand and overly confident on TV. Too burn off all those calories we reload, stuff a few dozen clips, and air out the modern sporting arms

I would suggest he go to the East of Texas and not wander into the West of Texas as most everything over here will bite you, scratch you or stick you.
Sit on your horse on top of a ridge, look out across the country and tell me there is no God.
