I have pr proline. That may last cpl wks next season, rubber lite ins boot, I wear boots if on land or waterline as wet high grass an to much time take off for hike boots. I have pr Dan's that got az gift but I don't want wear them out an wear constantly while trapping. An just use mostly water trapping, want them last, so looking for pr mid price range boots lite ins, proline went out bussiness. A cheap quality rubber boot. Farm supply an dicks carry pricey PVC line upper boots. To flimsy for trapping. Or rubber thin boots, no ins, in $90 for camo ins. Polyethane const boots. I only want rubber. Anyone send any links of places to look for quality mid range price boot for $70 down with shipping ?

The wife got me a pair of Frogg Togg hip boots that I wore last year. The seem to hold up pretty well and they are fairly inexpensive.

Coonman,
No disrespect but if I was posting asking for advice on a loan company for less than $1000 I probably wouldn't be shopping for hipboots. I also wouldn't be trapping this year.

Coonman, I was buying cheap waders about every year. I bought a pair of Lacrosse big chief waders for 125 8 yrs ago. Staying dry. Store indoors in the offseason, filled with newspaper

PVC line upper are not any good for trapping , these frog toggs. Didn't have molded feet so much that real tite. Like other frogg toggs. More like a rubber boot. From proline. Very similar, good early, when wear boots, on land water, in high wet grass, to much work take off an hiking boots on, save good boots for water only trappjng an colder water

I love DANS
In years past. I'v had them on ,more than any other shoe/boot.
Even wore the soles out. Sent them back and had New Boots instaled. The new boots nead replacing soon.Due to were on the soles. Tops still good.

Before I found DANS. I wore OUTRIGGERS. Too heavey. One year, before going Martin trap'n in Maine. I had the bright idea. Of buying 4 pair of Proline. Thinking I could change out the boots when they started to leek. It worked. I had dry feet, every morning. But WET feet by the end of every day. That was a WRONG idea.

I'll be in my DANS for the rest of the day.As soon as I'm off here.

Iowa,
This guy was given, free of charge a brand new set of Dan's. Lots of trappers donated to this. Wear the Dan's. Save 20-30 bucks a year till they wear out then buy another quality pair. Sheesh.

Save your "extra" money you have now. Wait until you need the boots, won't burn a hole in your pocket.

Hipboots are a darned if you do and darned if you don’t type of thing. Barbed wire and those thorn’s out Newt’s way are non-discriminatory offenders. My new $70 FrogToggs lasted 2 days out there. Cumberlands had La Crosse, which I’ve used many times over the years (~$120+). I won’t make the mistake of going cheap again.

Another vote for Dans. I broke down and bought a pair for this past season. Wore them everyday from November until the end of March. Super comfortable and repel briars and even water locust thorns better than any other hippers I have owned. They are still good to go for this coming season.
