I love mushrooms.....but don’t know a dang thing about them...what to pick and all the edible types....guess I bettah dive into that next

Zim, I think they grow as long as it isn't freezing. Talked to a guy that went down a river in the fall and found them on willow close to the water.

Nessy, You probably have beech trees where you are. They usually produce good, edible mushrooms. Yes sir....so I look on the beeches ?

These were on a dead cottonwood.

The can be a gold color too, just always look for the gills running down the stem and not on just the bottom of the top.

I see them more here on Ash trees along creek bottoms in fall just as leave start to drop...They really stand out then, can't say that have looked this time year. I'm wondering if will be less now that Ash Borers kill lot of the ash trees here.. One friend of mine was finding them high enough on tree. He used a stick with a loop heavy mono fish line to reach up cut them down..
