I'm thinking I need one. I'll use if for stuff like washing traps (of course), washing cars, house, deck, etc. Electric or gas engine? How much psi do I need?
Thanks in advance for suggestions and advice!

I've had a few gas pressure washers and got tired of havingto clean carbs if they didn't get used. Went with an electric 2 years ago. Lot quieter and have had zero problems with it. They work good on cleaning concrete.

When I raised hogs I went thru several of the cheaper ones which are ok, they just don't hold up for lots of every day use. I got a cat pump with a 2 hp electric and it was a power house and out lasted me.

Had a nephew that had just got his mustang painted and wanted a free wash job, so I told him to help himself and he did and took a bunch of his new paint off.
I washed a couple of church's, just had to be careful with aluminum siding. Unless you are really going big time I would get a cheap one.

I too got tired of messing with carbs, fuel, and went with a sun joe electric. It works fine for what I need cleaning siding, cars, concrete, deck, mud ball traps etc..

I have a gas one I bought at Menards. I use it once a year and clean everything in site. The second year I had a heck of a time getting it going. Since then I only use alcohol free gas in it and it starts right up everytime. Alcohol in gas is a big problem in small engines.

A good 50 ft. hose will cost you as much as the cheapos. The real cheap ones hose will last about two times and their ends are different than standard PWs. you will not be able to get a replacement. Pressures are pretty similar, GPMs are the difference, 1.5-2 gpms will wash cars and such, 4 GPMs will blow the dirt off a dozer.

I recommend any brand that uses a Honda engine with a pump that uses a real hose .

Just run non ethanol so if it sits for periods of time it will still start

I just bought a stihl RB400. It is a beast. It took all the paint off my front porch while i was cleaning the house. Ive had 2 other pressure washers ive used on this place, both with "higher" PSI ratings and they never even got close to taking off what this one did. Took scum and mildew off my vinyl siding without a bleach and dawn presoak. Cranks easy too.

I bet 4000 psi will take a tree down. Be careful around wood decking and all windows.

We have a cheaper 2200 psi electric pressure washer. It does all we ask of it from power washing cars, decks, sidewalks, driveways, to steel roofs. If you want to see how it works trapdog, you can come over and power wash a bunch of stuff for me, free of charge! laugh

Electric is fine for small stuff.
Gas engine has more power but can cause more damage.
Just need to manage what tip you use.

I wish I could find an extension for the wand on mine. I'm unsure if they sell extensions, but it would make cleaning a house easier.
