How high should I hang my flower pots to keep the deer from eating them? I’m building some flower pot holders and I know the deer will eat them all if they’re not hung high enough. I will hang them 10’ if I have to. Thanks! Pic is similar to what I’ll be building. (Not my pic)

Depends on how BIG the deer get up there. They can stand on their hind legs and reach pretty high. Eight feet would be a good place to start, I would think. Charlie

deer at my house eat everything including the hanging baskets. They love begonias, caladiums, inpatients, my roses, and hostas. They also seem to really desire coleus so I've quit planting them. They'll trim my azaleas too. two birddogs in the yard don't seem to have any effect on the deer or their appetites.

I'd run 1/4" irrigation tubing and a timer to anything that I had to water up high. Hanging baskets need a lot of water.

Feed them Crepes. Then they won't want to eat the flowers

I have a neighbor put in a mixed orchard- spent a wagon load of money. Now these partially mature trees produce about 20 fruit each clear at the top b/c the deer will not only stand on their back feet and paw it off the limb but can jump up and swat it down to the ground as easily as Carl Malone if he ever decided to goal tend

I can't grow squash in my garden because as soon as the flowers are visible, the deer eat them. This year they are eating my asparagus as soon as it pops up.

they can reach a foot higher than you build it. Lmao! Ya with my luck! Depends on how BIG the deer get up there. They can stand on their hind legs and reach pretty high. Eight feet would be a good place to start, I would think. Charlie I decided to build them 9’ high, making the pots hang about 8’ from the ground. We’ll see if I have any problems with that.
