I was reading a back issue of Fur Fish Game magazine (June 1973) and there was an article about E. J. Dailey, it was written by Paul Peck. The author claimed that Dailey estimated he had total sales of 4 million bottles of his products. Dailey's lure business was a one man operation. I did some math. Dailey lived until he was 83 years old, if he started bottling his products when he was age 20 he would have to bottle over 182 bottles each day for 63 years. He must have had one heck of a business, lol. I wonder what the leading lure makers bottle each year now days.

I got myself a seniors' GPS.
Not only does it tell me how to get to my destination,
it tells me why I wanted to go there.

For what it’s worth. I know a woman and her brother who would paid a penny each bottle to screw the cap on. About 50 years ago. To this day she states it was a smelly job. lol

I purchased a few of those bottles out of the 4 million back then.

Good post Mr. Lion. EJ was a good guy and a great writer. As a snotty nosed teenager I wrote him a letter and he took the time to send back a long response. I got to believe he probably did that kind of kind hearted thing like that quite often. I still have the letter. Loved his articles.

There was a picture of Dailey’s old store a while back on the Pennsylvania Trappers Association website. The building was vacant and eroding away. It is too bad it couldn’t be restored and made into an E.J. Dailey trappers museum.
