Driving to work this morning I saw a possum crossing the road. It looked like it was caught in something. I turned around and the whole back end of it was a very large growth. It looked like a sheepshead mushroom. I couldn't see a tail at all. Where the tail should have been was about eight inches in diameter and about a foot long. Looked like a sheepshead. Has anyone else ever seen this?

Not drinking. Tried to get a picture but it made it behind the guard rail. I'm thinking some kind of bacteria in the tail. Or maybe a pig castrated.
