Bough a new trapping pistol today a Heritage Rough Rider 22lr with 22wmr cylinder. Shot a cylinder of 22lr when I got home and it shoots great. Way better than lugging my rifle around on a sling.

Nice! I carry a Browning Buckmark loaded with Remington .22 LR Subsonics for most cases. Spare mag is loaded with CCI's SGB 40 grain solids for anything that needs penetration. Light, compact, rides on the hip out of the way.

I couldn't pass this up at $120 including both cylinders and a display box it came in with Civil War art burned/etched into the box.

Got a couple, they are fun. Just picked up the 16" barrel model for a wall hanger at the cabin.

My buddy and I were just talking about the 16" barrel model of the rough rider. I'm gonna try to find one at a good price. Just to have because it's so unique.

Happy to say I have all the pistols mentioned in this thread! I've got thr rough rider with 22lr and 22wmr cylinders, browning buckmark and the Roger wrangler in burnt bronze. Some days I feel like carrying them all.

Wild Idaho, you got a good deal on that rough rider, I think I paid $100 for mine and had to pay an extra $35 or so (plus wait 2 months) for my 22wmr cylinder. Picked up the wrangler as soon as I could find one somewhat close to me in the burnt bronze and the buckmark was a gift from my uncle.

I need to upgrade. I've been carrying an H&R 922 snubbie for trapping and running bank lines for years. My eyes are getting to the point where I couldn't hit the side of a barn with the dang thing if I was standing inside of it lol

That’s what I use for trapping. I shoot shorts in mine. Had it for years. So far, no problems. I keep a rifle close by too, just in case food walks by.

Oh yeah depending on the season/time of year I'll either have my Savage Modell 99 .308 in the truck or a 300blk AR.

I've had a Heritage for several years. Hate the thing, couldn't hit the side of a barn from 10ft. Doesn't have a rear sight, not sure if was supposed to. I trap with a side by side, so weight isn't an issue. I now carry a rifle with me.90 percent of the time, I use my Death Ray anyway.

Love my heritage, I just upgraded mine to this as PSA had a pretty good sale and I am a real patriotic sob. I got the 6.5" barrel for $135 with shipping. Great little pistols.

Ivd got one. They are cheap and they go bang beyond that mine don't have too many pros. And I've had a couple of issues with mine.

Its when you start expecting more out them than what your original intent for them was, is when issues arise

I'm talking guns, your talking Xs, but in the spirit of the trapperman family we could probably find some common ground grin
