Anyone know any information on this little anvil? The only marking I can see on it I the letter A. First time I've ever dug an anvil, little fella, maybe a jewelers tool? [Linked Image]

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

That’s really cool! Maybe, a anvil salesmen, uses those as businesses cards, back in the day.

The city took down an old abandoned house and I was in the right place at the right time. Old matchbox cars, pewter soldier, the anvil and a lot of other neat stuff. I used to be a coinshooter looking for that deep silver but that's getting scarce.

Saweet find! I have a tiny anvil that is used for what I think is called repousse work. I got it when I was doing custom auto sheet metal. It worked great for trim restoration.

Gwc I’d say you’re probably correct. I know some jewelry makers use them for relief/embossing like repousse which is a technic more prevalent in silver work like bowls or plates that have been embossed.

Don’t have a full photo of all together as they are scattered all over his house but here are a few

Notice the date so these are still being used as promotional items
