Powerline trimmers come through every 5 years or so. They have a guy that comes out before hand with a sort of contract. I have a dead spruce tree down near the road my 2 chickens roost in at night. He said we are going to take it down. I said no your not, top it, I have 2 chickens living in it and Im going to have it carved when they die I said just top it, and do whatever you have to do with the rest. .He said OK, we will top it. It was wrote that way on his paper. Flash forward about a month, I was coming home from work and I see them right at my tree from a ways off, and shake my head saying to myself "I bet they cut the whole tree down". Sure enough it was down and all the wood bolts are laying in my yard-the brush was chipped. Im now seeing red and go Viking on them....saying why didn't you read the paper, Im not dealing with this mess, who is responsible? The 2 cleanup guys said they don't ever get a paper "what the expletive good is the paper then?" They said you need to see Mike....I said where is Mike?....he isn't around, we will have him come see you....yea right I thought. The next day they came and cleaned up the wood chunks and here it is, about a month later and no Mike. Im basically over it, but still mad. I make a major mistake, I make it right. They are a big company and hide. If Mike would have showed up I would have been happy with that and took it easy on them .Im ready to go to the companies website and order me a 20 foot totem pole courtesy of Townsend tree trimming LOL.

Your contract said it was to be topped. Did it state as to how high that mark was to be? If not you could leave a stump and it would be "topped". I dislike contracts but understand their necessity but then one can twist the contents around to get their way.

LOL, I knew you guys would be helpful. Those boys chipping were no slouches, half my age and in just a bit better shape than me, but I knew my uncanny ability to take a beating would persevere. Mike, well mike is small, ghostlike and a bit transparent. Im not sure what the right of way guidelines are, I will have to measure it. Its like 10' in my yard on a bit of a hill. My hat's off to someone that will go Viking on a crew of hot, sweaty, tired guys half my age and in better shape than me; while they're holding chain saws and have a wood chipper running. What were you thinking ? With lumberjack for an ID you must know how easy that work is. I'm glad that your basically over it, but still a little upset. It's done and they can't fix it. It's warm and sunny now, but try putting yourself in their shoes while in convoy to another ice storm or hurricane for damage control for days at a time away from home. Try to be little grateful when you flip the switch and the light comes on. These guys put their life on the (line) for you. Hope you get well soon.
