Oh oh, I figured out how to post pics properly.
I see some fishing discussion, that’s awesome. I put a lot of time in fishing, almost as much as hunting. Here’s the very best looking splake we’ve ever stuck in a net. My oldest boy caught it in October a few years back. My youngest boy took his pic and we submitted it to Outdoor Canada magazine’s photo contest. They won a great prize package, obviously due to how brilliant the fish looked. We let it go to make another angler happy some day.

What's a splake again, a cross between a lake trout and and a rainbow...?

Thats a beauty-splake is a manmade cross between a speckled and a lake.
There are splake here some guys are crazy about trout fishing,I never got the bug.
A buddy of mine makes the trek into the Temagami area where a few remote lakes are home to the aurora trout-another trout with amazing colours. The aurora is a natural variation of the brook.

I always thought the splake was a brook/lake cross, very cool fish, be fun to paint on a reproduction or carving.
