Don't know what kind but I had the exact same one crawling across my kitchen floor last week.
I had a bottle of rubbing alcohol on the counter so I doused him - or, I should say her. 50 little tiny spiders ran from the mother ship. At first, I thought it was just specs of black dust around the mother but then I realized they were moving. I counted the spots as well as I could count a random group of moving dots. I got 50. When all had abandoned the ship, the round back end looked like a deflated balloon. That must be where they keep the little ones.
As far as I know, none made it out alive.

Oh, a Texas spider. Just a tarantula. They come out after a rain and love around homes, shops, etc. I brought 3 home from my last trapping gig in south Texas. They are big, but they aren't fast. We pickle them and make paper weights for the grandkids. Do not judge my wife!

dkrug,
They are a bit creepy. They are slow for a spider, but when they raise the front end loader, brother it makes you go, "golly!!!!"

That thing is massive, we don't have those in Canada right Boco? Go out early in the morning in the bush in the fall when the sun is coming up and the frost is on the brush in the beaver meadows you will see thousands of glistening spider webs literally everywhere. I have only seen big spiders in the water, but not big like a taratula.

Tarantula. Somebody's escaped pet probably. I've never seen a wolf spider that thick and stout.

That is referred to as a, "Nope, don't think so" spider around my house.
I shared a video on my fb page a while back of a spider in Texas eating a bat it had caught in its web.
Flamethrower is what I would reach for.
