Today our country is essentially in a state of anarchy. We have terrorist groups controlling sectors of Seattle with no intervention. We have rioters destroying historic statues, businesses and attempting to take over the state capital in Madison, Wi while the mayor orders the police to stand back and even stay out of the area. Citizens have lost their civil liberties because mob rule is being allowed with no intervention from our elected officials and so as a result are being forced to protect themselves. The same political party that is trying diminish our second amendment right and protect ourselves is also trying to diminish the ability of police to protect and defend us.

How did we get to this point? What factors have facilitated this progression?

I believe the lack of enforcement of our immigration laws is one of these factors. The left has been resisting enforcement and blatantly ignoring federal law on this matter for the past 25-30 years while establishing sanctuary cites and releasing illegal immigrants. The left learned that there would be no consequences for the disregard and breaking of our country’s law.

This country has been taking God out of the picture.

Agreed. This is probably the biggest factor but I knew I could let someone else point that out.

As a person who is not religious I don't buy the lack of religion theory. The biggest single factor IMO is good people just standing by and watching it happen instead of getting out and taking an active role in stopping it. The politicians only hear those that scream the loudest so if you stand back silently watching your community burn, expect to get burned.

It’s fun to fantasize about annihilating the “enemy”, but actually doing so in a country that guarantees one’s freedom to disagree regarding which way to turn the wrench defeats the purpose of the original experiment.

Take a look at the Roman Empire. Same difference.

Or.. politicians have been bought off and have a particular agenda to accomplish.

It slowly started in the 50's and 60's. Read Cloward and Piven.

The demise has been centuries in the making as we follow the progression of human rationalism. The morality of America, as it was in Europe prior, is now an individual decision. To each his or her own. Literally.

There is revolt against corporate authority now similar to what existed in the 1500's, then against 900 previous years of Medieval monarchies and corruption.

History does repeat itself, because man's heart's and minds haven't changed much in the grand scheme of things.

BLM didn't invent anarchy. It's been around for quite some time.

You don't have to be religious to believe in God..... God and the family unit have been decimated for one.

The downhill slide started when young men stopped wearing suits in the late 50's.

This is the reason. Some ideas and people are bad and need dealt with harshly.

We have gotten to this point because democratic politicians have chosen to ignore sensible decisions and use current events to a political advantage.

Because no one what to be the bad guy. We do not make the Gov. accountable for there actions. An politician that does not follow the Constitution should be removed from office. JMO

Problem isn't so much the politicians as it is lobbyists. We need to get rid of them. No one should be able to sway votes by paying money. Most countries don't allow lobbyists in politics, but we do.
