Ness, those photos should come with a warning. My wife thought I was looking at a girly web site when she heard the comment I made looking at that pic. That canoe is gorgeous. Lol....it’s like a hot girl walking down the street....can’t stop looking at it.....

. A supplier named Paxton can advise you and supply the paint. They serve Eastern NC. They may be from Norfolk.

Lots of options, from old fashioned alkyd enamel (Rust-Oleum, Kirby or valspar porch enamel) to poly paint like petit ezpoxy. Depends on your budget. There's lots of fancy epoxy stuff out there put it's pricey and harder to work with. I painted my truck with Kirby's three years ago, drive it year round and it's holding up great, will prolly scotch Brite and recoat this year. It's very good, old fashioned marine alkyd paint. I use Valspar on my canoe (cedar canvas like nessmucks) doesn't brush out as nice but the price is right. I'm not a fan of ezpoxy and similar but it's good if your really want a high gloss.
Prep is your friend- sand to 220 or 320, vacuum, wipe down with thinner, tack cloth, I roll and tip with mini hot dog rollers and quality foam brush. Modify enamel paint with penetrol and thinner for good brushing. Wet sand with 220 or 320, or scotch Brite between coats.

The can I got with my canoe ...years back...shined like a Bastid ...but I dint have enough. Bought the same color and same brand.....it was not as glossy...FYI.

I use it very infrequently at work, we've had issues with particles in the cans last year. My boss is a petit guy so I can't get him to switch it up. We don't paint much other than bottoms - mostly varnish, varnish varnish Luckily I'm not the varnish guy.
