I catch a few badgers every winter and would like to mount one myself. Does anyone know of any good books, DVD's, or instructional videos specifically on how to skin and prepare a badger for taxidermy? I can't find much, asked the same thing on Taxidermy.net and the only response was for a DVD set that cost $40. I've cased many badgers but seems like a shame to sell them for $30-$40. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No offense, but if the $40 DVD set is too much then you may as well stop now. It takes a LOT of practice to get good at taxidermy, and practice takes supplies. Supplies cost a lot of money. A lot of people (myself included) think they can do their own taxidermy and save money. It doesn't work like that. I spent WAYYYY more learning to get good at taxidermy than I ever would have just having a good taxidermist do them. I kept at it because I enjoyed it, but even today it doesn't save me a ton of money. If I put a value to my time, it costs mo more to do it myself.

You were told straight up which DVD set to buy and you’re still asking. Go say thank you to the guy on Taxidermy.net

Like I said, I am searching for information. Surely there is more out there than one dvd set from 1972.

Try McKenzie taxidermy supply and check out their selection of taxidermy videos probably not much on badgers but most similar sized mammals would be basically the same .

Look on McKenzie. Com they have a bobcat mounting video. The same principles will work on a badger. A badger should be one of the easiest mammals to mount. Make sure you degrease it good before tanning.
