About a gallon of berries this morning. I don't think I have as many this year as I generally do. We had a late frost that worked em over. Any body else experience in the same? [Linked Image]

Nice! Have a couple plants out back that are loaded with berries but are still a week or so away from being ripe. Doesn't seem our late frosts hurt them any.

Well I had a gallon of um picked until my daughter and granddaughter decided they needed more than I did. Had my heart set on a blackberry crumble pie and a blackberry cobbler. Guess I'll have to wait a couple days before some more are ready. My arms look like I was trying to corral a bobcat in a phone booth.

Get any chiggers with your blackberries? They seem to go well together in the South.

Starting to pick Black Caps along our fence. Never seen so many! We have gotten lots of rain and they are along a stockade fence that gets all the water from a concrete slab along the garage. By the looks of it I will be picking every day for quite some time. They must have been planted by the birds a few years back.

Just might have to try a Black Cap Margarita tonight!

We have a lot of chiggers in the wild patches around here to. These I planted 4 years ago at the house in a fence line. Haven't had a problem with them yet in that patch.

Our wild blackberries are not ready. We cheated and picked 4 flats of strawberries early this morning. Wife is making strawberry jam in our summer kitchen right now. Fresh strawberry pie for supper too!

My mom and dad loved rhubarb in their strawberry pie. I was never a fan, though.

The black raspberries are just starting to ripen here. I picked these and about as many again that we ate, about an hour ago. Only the very tip berries are ripe, for the most part and on only probably one cane out of 20.

I checked about 1/3 of my fence row and wood edges, where the berries grow. It's probably going to be 10 days before there are a lot of berries.

I have had yellow raspberries for about a week.

There are virtually no mulberries or sour cherries this year.

Used to get sick climbing Mulberry trees and eating till I was floundered.

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

We had a really big mulberry tree in the left rear corner of our backyard. My parents always talked about cutting it down, because it was messy and it was big and leafy enough that grass wouldn't grow under it. My siblings and I talked them out of cutting the tree down over and over. We spent many hours climbing it, picking mulberries in it and shaking mulberries out of it onto a sheet. The first mulberries were always ripe on almost the same day school ended for the year.

I have over 100 mulberry trees on my farm. This year, I have not seen a single, reachable, ripe mulberry yet.

I need to cut a bunch of mulberry trees down to grill with, that are mostly to close to my barns. It's my favorite wood to grill with.
