Sorry, I have been thinking again. It appears that the new increasing cases are among the low risk population and they are not infecting the high risk population since daily death numbers are not trending up. Is this not a good thing to get these low risk people infected and over it so they do not pose a risk to the high risk group who are self isolating? Seems to me the faster we achieve herd immunity, the sooner the high risk people can come out of hiding?

That was their thinking a couple months ago. Now I think they are just trying to keep the hysteria going.

Arizona is the media's poster child for increasing cases. The daily new cases have increased about sixfold since May, but the daily death toll is about the same.

Yes testing has increased( maybe doubled), but % positives are way up.

Pretty much the same story in Texas

You will not hear that the protests caused any of this increase, the word is the virus is getting weaker on it’s own more cases are being reported But less deaths not getting much attention.

What about the tests that are giving a false positive

The scientists always said there would be a second wave of covid.According to the science it will peak again in late fall/winter.

the death is only .02 percent! 120,000 dead not millions as first predicted ......the shut down stopped the massive spread and over whelming health care system. time to get back to business as usual. and remember who gave it to us! and buy made in the usa!

The numbers are going down locally. That's good news.

I wonder if that speculation has anything to do with the timing of the election. Maybe this is the second wave and it's just happening earlier than the dems wanted.

My county went from 24 to 37 cases, after the restrictions were lifted, which is a 35% increase. The only death in my county was a 54 year old, white woman, in good prior health, with no pre existing conditions. She was friends with one of my best friend's sister since kindergarten.

You think what you’re gonna think based on your mindset. At close to 70, I wear a mask, avoid crowds and think in terms of MY safety even though you don’t seem to care. On the plus side, 87% of the confirmed cases in Minnesota have recovered. At present, that gives us only about 4000 active cases in the state. This isn’t true yet in many other states where the numbers are actively climbing. Death-wise, we’re at 126,000+. Many were older and had conditions of older age that weakened their immune systems. Obviously they’re not going to recover and offer quality of life to the people around them.

You may think this is a political ploy to insult the president. It’s not. It’s a disease that we’re all potentially facing. It makes no difference where it started. America wasn’t ready for it. Didn’t take it seriously until the numbers of severely ill and deaths started mounting. Let’s let the mistakes of the recent past be in the past. Now we know masking and social distancing can give us some space towards beating this disease. We have the choice to take the research seriously or live in the (recent) past where blaming is the rule of the day. I choose to move forward. I hope you do too.

Keith, I'm not going to say that said 54 yo woman had no pre existing conditions but I will say that many seemingly healthy people do have some conditions that they and their families choose to keep private, like AIDS, hep C and a few others. Sooo, we will never know the real deal when it comes to the real cause of deaths due to covid.

Let's all move forward. The whole country. Enough is enough.
