How many people died of Flu this past year? They really don’t have a clue because they no longer keep track of it. It has become the norm now, just like corona will be. I’m sure it has killed some people just like many of our other COVID’s have. The fact that I haven’t gotten it yet must be a miracle. We are considered essential and I haven’t missed a day of work yet due to it. I’m around the general public on a daily basis. Some places I cringe a little at going, but I was that way before the corona hit.
As far as older folks, my parents (83, 75 I think) have had enough. They have said, the heck with it! They started going out about a month ago and fly out of town the 11th of July until August 9th. They are going to Spokane to see my baby brother, then to Yellowstone and a few other places. Their thoughts are, if they get the virus, it will be while “living” and not in isolation for the rest of their lives. After all, it’s a virus, its not going ANYWHERE!!

I see the lines of cars miles long on the news and people get in line hours before they open up. Is any of those people sick, if so how does a sick person sit in line for hours on end with no bathroom or anything. Why go thru all that for a test that maybe is right or not. Just because you test negative does not mean you still will be in a day or two. Some said they want to find the hot spots so they can control it, but you can't control it, said on news this morning that some refused to be quarantined. But why try using rationale now.

They do it because they've been told to. Baaaaaaa Baaaaaaaa.

They keep track of pneumonia and flu deaths here in WI. Thus far corona has a lower death rate.

Also....there will be waves. Not a spike but waves. Not sure why people are shocked by that just like waves lapping along a shore it will come...it will go....

You could be dead wrong about the virus. Over 120,000 of our friends have been.

In La Crosse County we have seen a huge spike in the last 10 days, a high percentage of them in their 20's. Sticking with staying home and when not, wearing a mask.

I do most of our shopping across the border in Wisconsin. I have seen no masks on teenagers and few on those under 60. The masks being worn are mostly by old farts like me.
Is it any wonder this virus is now hitting the younger people,Nope--they are invinceable.

I get out alot, and I can tell you there are more young folks wearing masks than gray haired folks, where I am. Statistically, only about 300 of the 1200 deaths in Minnesota occurred outside of a nursing home. Not only that, the daily reports indicate "Covid related" deaths. This means, regardless of the immediate cause of death, if the deceased tested positive at autopsy, the death is chalked up to this virus. Cower in fear if you wish, but I am willing to take my chances. I have a much better chance of dieing in a car accident, yet, I will be driving over 200 miles for work tomorrow.

Same scenario here, Tom. We have discovered and are using the beauty of ordering through InstaCart at Aldi's. No muss, no fuss, no touch.

We are NOT "cowering in fear" as you say. We are just choosing to do whatever we can to avoid catching a disease the has too many unknowns, especially with me at risk and my wife at high risk. If, by simply wearing a mask and taking other precautions, we can avoid it, we are being smart rather than "cowering in fear".

I think balance, common sense and comfort level plays into this. In high population density areas I take extra precautions. If I'm in rural area I still wear a mask at the grocers but few other places.

Why would I believe it???? My health care workers sure as (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) believe it. Wife had to get her infusion last week at the hospital,I couldn't go with her.Had to pick her up 4 hours later.
Went to our clinic yesterday,entrance driveways were down to one entrance only and each car was stopped and questioned.My wife had to go in one building to see her doctor,I have a chronic cough(smoking related),I could not see my doctor.I had to go into another building(urgent care)-to get my left hand checked(been numb for 2 months),also ended up with chest X-rays.All doctors were wearing masks and ntirile gloves.The nurses reminded me of ROBO-cop,face masks and face shields.When I was finished,I could not go in the other building to pick up my wife--they called that building and had her meet me outside.

You cannot avoid a virus. Try as you might, there is no way, aside from living in a bubble, that you can avoid exposure. Heck, there is a great chance that most of us on this site have already been exposed. Science and common sense make it clear that you cannot hide from this thing. I'm not hacking on anyone here, I'm just stating the facts. Does anyone remember, when this thing first started, the Doctors wanted everyone to self quarintine to SLOW the transmission rate. Admitting, flat out, that you cannot escape exposure. It is just a matter of time, if you haven't been exposed yet.

I don't see any of us born in the 60's falling for this crap. Now, the elderly, y'all do what you feel is best, even though now I think this is plain silly. Most wearing mask and doing Silkwood showers when they have to go to the outside lol, are youngins who were successfully indoctrinated in school to believe this great big huge lie.

I've got one last surviving Uncle born in 41, he says what a bunch of sissy knotheads and does as he pleases cause like me, we loves some Freedom! Rock on Uncle!

Beating? Masks and distancing prevent the spread which prolongs the time we need to continue wearing masks and distancing. I'm with Dirt. Let the folks that wanna party party hardy!
