Just read on another site (Survivalist Boards) that the group has left due to an internal power struggle. Impossible! Can't find anything current about it but hope it is true. (and they left their garbage behind) gasp

You mean to tell me that a society with no police, armed leaders who's only accomplishment in life is being a "gangster rapper" and hoards of unemployed basement-dwelling smelly hippies as citizens couldn't sustain itself? I'm a little disappointed I don't get to go over there on the 4th of July to help break it up.

It must have been fun though while it lasted. No country for old men though.

They failed to take it back, they are clueless when it comes to leadership.

Failed social experiment. If it was a social experiment it did not fail, but produced very predictable results. The hypothisis of those who set up the "experiment" was that their subculture could coexist peacefully without any structured law enforcement presence. It probably didn't help that they populated this utopian subculture with people who had total disregarded law and order prior to their little social experiment.

On the coexist peacefully part...Wasn't there a murder, sexual assaults, infighting, and food supply problems? Looks more like it proved they couldn't make it without structured law enforcement.

Correct, but a failed experiment produces no results. This one produced convincing results that structured law enforcement is needed for a civil society. The results were pretty predictable, but broke down even faster than I would have expected.

City officials are paying them off. This is not a social experiment. The city is complicit at best and promoting socialism. Minneapolis and Seattle are in the same boat. The population/City Council/Mayor are made up of socialists, communists and Leftists.
