Anybody been running these for awhile with pros/cons? Would like to standardize equipment someday and afraid the extreme is a little bigger/heavier than I’d like. Thanks.

I own the Jrs & Extremes. I like how they sit flat, solid trap built very well. Hold up great even after multiple coyote catches. Plus I like the fact that you can call Kendall anytime with questions about the traps.

I run 3 dozen Extremes. They are an excellent trap for coyotes. They are a little much for coons and fox, the Jr's would be better. I've found that coyotes don't fight the trap near as much, because of the weight. You won't find a better built trap and service is top notch.

Thanks guys, I’ve used the extremes for a few days helping a buddy get some traps out and caught coyotes and cats in them, they were tanks for sure, almost overkill that’s why I was considering the jrs. As well as a smaller bed to chop out in frozen conditions and less shale or waxed dirt usage. LDW were you running 24 hr checks? The weight concerns me a little for 3 day checks on yotes. I do love how that dogless pan sits well under the jaws allowing for hassle free use of screen.

You will be impressed with the jr I want to try an extreme but haven't yet. I have a jr that is outside laminated and coated. It does way a ton but I'm trapping from a four wheeler so it's no problem for me. I can post pics if you would like.

I run the Jrs and love them. Have caught coyotes, reds, greys, cats, coons, skunks and possums in them. All were held well and no damage. Skunks I usually have by multiple feet, same with possums. I do use steel screen pan covers with them. All of mine are outside laminated and coated. I also do put a small amount of bowstring wax on the contact point between the jaw and the pan. By doing that I get a fairly consistent trap firing at 2.5 lbs.

I bought a dozen Jr.s this year, and have been very pleased with them. Very well built and once you use the bow string wax the pan tension is just about right.

I have the Jr’s. I think the Extreme would be too much trap for me. Steel screen fits nice over the pan and between the jaws on the Jr’s for the coyote pipe set.

The only traps I use for K-9's is the jr's. Been trapping for 43 years now and they are the nicest traps I've ever used for coyotes and fox. Thinking about ordering another dozen of them. Anyone here that's has any and for some reason doesn't like them PM me and I'll buy them from you.😁

Life's too short, enjoy everyday like it was your last.

I’ve been running the jrs also. I really like them but this year I’m replacing the springs with the springs from the extreme.

Good info, thanks guys. I wish MB would make a trap similar to the 550 only a 6” inside jaw spread, and a dogless setup where the pan sits below jaws, not on top of the jaw like the Bridger dogless. That’d be a quality rig I would think.
