What is everyone's opinion? Are we ever going to see raccoon prices come back up to a "respectable" level? I remember averaging $20 per coon, and anymore its a few bucks. I want to know other peoples opinions, IMO I dont think we will ever see coon prices rise back to what they once were. Thanks

I doubt they go up any this fall. At best they hold where they are but a further drop would not be a shock. There are more of them In storage than could be used in the next 5 years, not to mention all the ranch mink that is still stockpiled.

They could go to a couple hundred once inflation kicks in.

Then why don't you start stockpiling them at 50$ now, and triple your money? grin

Fur is tied to certain countries and won't do much until they come around again.

Maybe a new trend coon lined coffins for covid victims or a vaccine made out of coon fat.

I don't care that much about prices. High fur prices are great don't get me wrong, but no matter what, I cant wait for fall every fall to get here to start setting traps.

Hope I can find a buyer for coon. If not I'll definitely start some major tanning of my own. Deciding when to take prime pelts and how many to harvest will be more of a priority for me

A $2 coon still beats a $0 possum.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

coons will shine when land owners are willing to pay 10 dollars a head for you to get the masses of them out of their , yard , chicken coop , garage , horse barn

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Once civilization collapses and people start eating them all to near extinction, the value of the pelts will go up due to lack of supply.

As long as trappers are willing to trap them when they're worthless, why would prices ever have to go up?

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

OK, then hold on to that 50$ an tell me what it will buy you when coon hit that "couple hundred". Of course if you are talking 200$ Canadian that would be what? About a buck ninety eight US. Being so that your money is about as worthless as you are. smile
