Who makes it? And how much wax does it use up? I heard it takes less than dirt.

Thanks smile

I use 2 1/2 cups to 4 gallons of really loamy sand dirt,3 cups to loamy black dirt to 4 gallons.Do the water test no need to waste wax, these amounts work great for me.Dont heat hotter than 138 degree's.

Clean sand like you would get at a construction site takes even less wax than loamy sand. One pound of wax will do a five gallon bucket of clean sand. I am not sure what the measurement in volume of flake wax would be for that I always weigh it. It takes me 3-4 pounds of wax to do a bucket of the local dirt. I now just use sand and lightly cover with dirt from the set to blend in the sets.

I do just like Andrew. I've used sand for the last 5 years with very good results. Sand won't scorch because it has virtually no organic matter, although there is no reason to heat above 140. Another huge benefit is that traps bed much better with sand, packs real good. You will be really happy with waxed sand.
