Going to get competitive real quick.

Ridiculous why should they give a bonus to go back to work when they already gave a bonus to not work. Give the bonus to those that stayed working instead of just calling them heros

Haven’t stopped working through any of this. They had me teaching online and my pool/hot tub business never stopped for a minute. And, I’m watching guys on unemployment make a killing for doing nothing while we’re busting our butt to keep the lights on. Makes no sense to me. These stimulus checks are nice in terms of helping out but in the end, the damage they’re going to do in the long run will be extremely difficult to recover from. They need to look at a much larger picture.

I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."

I didn't want the first one, it was a joke, like 400 a month for not being allowed to work being non essential. My fuel bill (when working) is more than that.

If they want to buy votes then cut the scat Pay at the voting booth instead of candidates just one button for rep. or dems. and a screen showing their bids

The Republican party should have held the line on fiscal responsibility If you want money work. They should have created the biggest public works program since FDR was potus. They should have put the money into development of a vaccine research, repairs to infrastructure. no it was just a give away and there will be more to get the vote Potus wants and yep the Democratic party loves it too. I believe in a hand up not a hand out we are a socialist country all for a vote.

Anybody remember when they used a paycheck as incentive to work?

That must've been before the days of unemployment paying 25% more than what someone could make at a decent paying job.

It was scrapped. All the lazy lumps back on the dole.

I sure am curious how people are making more on unemployment than actually working. I have been very fortunate and only filed a very few times for very short duration 15-20 years ago. It was nice to still have something coming in but I sure wasn't making more and couldn't wait to get back to work.

I just looked at Wisconsin' DWD and the benefits are 4% of the total quarter wages. So if you're making $60k annually that is $15k quarterly. 4% of that is $600 weekly on unemployment compared to $900 weekly if you were still working. That $600 is well above the maximum benefit of $370. I can't imagine being working age and having to take care of a family and all the bills that come with this phase of life only bringing in $370 weekly.

Quit feeding them and they will get to work or die off. If I feed my cattle in a flat meadow, give them mineral blocks and water there is no need for them to work up the mountain. Giving money out is not the answer, give them training a job or let them starve it will work, option 1 or 2 they can take their choice.

That 370 a week is gravy-their housing food and kids is likely covered as well.

Before I was laid off I was making around $21/hr, about $760/week after taxes, etc. My UI benefits were $370/week from the state plus the $600 federal money, or $824/week after tax withholdings.

Now I'm working for $16/hr. But at least I'm working.

Maybe a person should see if J.G. Wentworth would advance ya on second stimulus?? My guess they'd have their fingers on the pulse of that. LMAO!
