yes unfortunately the cross fire line is made made in china but they have a good service team here in WI should it break
Crossfire II 2-7x32 is probably my favorite scope I think I have 5 of them now on different guns

Get a Leupold. Good scopes and outstanding warranty (lifetime) and customer service.
They're made in the USA. I think the glass is from Taiwan, where most non-European glass originates.
A lot of other brands are made in Taiwan, Malaysia, or China.

I will second the Leupolds , never played with the Konus or Vortex. I have buddies that shoot the lower end vortex and really like them. With the 35 I think the 4 power Leupolds wound be awesome.

Vortex has a similar return the broken scope they fix or replace lifetime warranty.
leupold is great but he is talking about a 300-350 dollar rifle you could put 300 dollar glass on it sure
129-150 dollar vortex glass with a similar lifetime warranty will do him well.

Look at a Swarovski z3. Kinda pricey but well worth it
