I saw all the posts on vortex scopes. Seems like a lot of people like them. Made in china??
I need a scope for a CVA single shot 35 whelen. I was going to put a Konus scope on it since it kicks a good bit and they have an engraved reticle but kinda thinking about vortex. Anyone here try konus?

yes unfortunately the cross fire line is made made in china but they have a good service team here in WI should it break

Crossfire II 2-7x32 is probably my favorite scope I think I have 5 of them now on different guns

Get a Leupold. Good scopes and outstanding warranty (lifetime) and customer service.

They're made in the USA. I think the glass is from Taiwan, where most non-European glass originates.

A lot of other brands are made in Taiwan, Malaysia, or China.

I will second the Leupolds , never played with the Konus or Vortex. I have buddies that shoot the lower end vortex and really like them. With the 35 I think the 4 power Leupolds wound be awesome.

My 3 Vortex scopes were made in the Philippines, as is my Burris. None are from the Crossfire line. I like them but my Leupold is a better scope, more expensive also.

Put my first Leupold on a cz 22 mag a few years ago.

Thing has paid for it's self many times over in dead nuisance beaver.

Had a vortex on a 243. Was accurate as heck.

I think I like the Leupold better though

I love the Leupold 3x9 VX-R Multi-plex Firedot that I put on my 30-06 about 5 yrs ago. Unfortunately Leupold discontinued that line of scopes.

Had a Leupold scope I purchased in 1974 go bad on an elk hunt in 2010. Sent the scope back and they send me a new scope. Can't beat that for customer service.

Vortex has a similar return the broken scope they fix or replace lifetime warranty.

leupold is great but he is talking about a 300-350 dollar rifle you could put 300 dollar glass on it sure

129-150 dollar vortex glass with a similar lifetime warranty will do him well.

My Leupold should be delivered today. I went with Leupold over Vortex because I like the firedot illumination and the locking elevation on the one I ordered. The lenses are ground in asia but the rest is made in the USA.

I don't mind spending a little more $ to have a good scope. I will be going elk hunting this fall and don't want any issues with a scope. I dont hunt much with a rifle.

I just bought a Vortex viper hs. I will give it a try and see what happens. I got a buddy who has a lot of the higher end Vortexs and said he has had no problems but if he did he would send it back and they will send a new one or fix the broke one. But he has paid 1500 and 2300 for his Vortex.

Trijicon 3-9 accupoint with triangle tip post reticle would be great for the whelen. The glass on the lower end vortex isn’t very good to my eye.

Buy a quality scope one time and use it for a lifetime.
