Tom is a good illustration of " it's not how many you catch it's how you market them."
We could all probably learn from him in this area.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

Most likely, we can use them in MN.

Who in their right mind would move from a trapline in the north to a sweltering (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) hole in the south?

Wife’s aunt had some saw timber pines and a beaver was cutting them. Very small pond and not near a stream. No dam or den. I gave her grandson a 330 and some Backbreaker. Built a castor mound set. Caught a beaver the first night. Grandson threw it in a dumpster. I later told her it was worth $50. She about did a backflip. Chewed her grandson out. I finally told them $5.

I think you also would be a good example of outting in the extra work to take a raw resource and creating an actual product.

I believe they have kids and grandkids down there. Also....for some the cold gets old. Explains why so many canadians go to Cuba.

For four or five years I pulled a camper to FL for Jan - March. I camped at a trapshooting golf resort. My only complaint was too many Canadians.

I've tanned otter skins and put a tag on them for 125.00 and there usually gone in no time when people come in the shop. I will say this it all depends on where you are trying to sale I can take fur to the Bland show here in southwest Virginia and you can't get rid of it. Then I can take it to a show like NC in Smithfield and I sale a bunch now I dint get that kind of money but then again I'm not a mountain man .

No matter where you go there you are.

I knew Tom and Nancy back in the late 70's when I lived in Montana. Tom was quite the rodeo cowboy back in the day.
I remember stopping by their cabin one day and Nancy told me Tom had gotten a job and they could afford some
luxuries, like toothpaste. They were into native American crafts then and made a living.
Hard to find two better people than Tom and Nancy.

Tom and Nancy and I go way back! (Just kidding. I first met them in person at the FTA convention in Marshfield in 2018.)
[Linked Image]
It was 100 degrees that day in that hockey arena. It was absolutely miserable, yet the two of them could not have been more kind and pleasant. They smiled and spent time with each person who came to visit. Nancy told me they were on their way to Illinois for a funeral. They had a lot going on, but that didn't stop them from as gracious as two people could be. Tom spent some time talking with Zim about people they both knew from years back. Wonderful people!

Same as me. Those two make the show. I don't care for Rich or the other guy who is always chasing "lions" out of the area. Shoot some of them and I'd be more interested.

I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

It must have been really hot to make Tom cut off his beard. If it weren't for Nancy being there, I wouldn't have recognized him.
