The bigger the better. In Canada I look around and can find them much cheaper buying them right off the boats.

If you don't like lobster, you probably haven't had it cooked correctly. All seafood can be tricky if you don't know what your doing. That being said, the best eating on the planet are King crab legs. There is no comparison.

One thing about seafood is that fresh caught is by far the best.
Too far inland and its not the same.

If Blue Crabs grew as large as lobsters, there would not be a market for lobster.

When early settlers arrived in America, the lobsters could be picked up on shore in large numbers. There was a law passed to limit the number of days servants could be forced to eat lobsters.

I'm sure there's a lot of truth to that.
I've had some terrible beef steak too.

To much work for me for what little you get with blue crabs.

I went to Alaska and ate seafood everywhere I went. It was all deep fat fried. WHAT???? Best thing I had up there was prime rib. Probly from Nebraska.

But if they grew to the size of lobsters, which would you prefer?

I like lobster.
I like scallops and clams better.
We crab and I probably like blue crabs the best except for all the work to get to a tiny bit of meat.
Lobster wins the effort vs. quantity competition.

Fresh king crab is un-real. I get/catch fresh clams, scallops, dungies, shrimp, prawns, but king crab rules the day like no other.
And while I have never had Maine lobster off the boat, I have had spiny lobster off the boat, on the west coast

Made it almost 3 years without censor!

Interesting piece of history. During the Revolutionary War, the British held some American prisoners of war on ships. Conditions were brutal with minimal food rations. They were fed lobsters due to the fact that they were plentiful, cheap and considered "trash" food. Prisoners threatened to riot due to the large amounts of lobster they were forced to eat.
