I know there are a few detectorists on Tman and was hoping for some reviews I could trust. I picked up a used Bounty Hunter pioneer 202 to see if i liked detecting, and I do. Even though I've only found a penny so far. But I see metaldetector.com has the Ace 300 on sale for $300 and it comes with a bunch of accessories including the Pro-Pointer AT pinpointer, plus a bonus Bounty Hunter pinpointer. For $300 it seems like a good deal for an intermediate level detector with better capabilities than an entry level model but without breaking the bank. I see other vendors have the 300 for arpund $255 but with the pinpointers, which are nearly a $200 value alone. Thoughts?

Will find coins and junk but with practice you will learn to discern between the two. I have one and it has held up well for the past 5 years.
