when farmers were riled up and drove their tractors to D.C. to protest grain prices or something. The police stopped the parade of tractors when they got there. One of the farmers lowered the blade on his tractor and plowed down a bunch of police motorcycles???? I know that guy and could have bought that tractor for $5000 but the transmission was out after the D.C. law enforcement got it loaded up and hauled away. I passed on it.
I was reading Coonman's thread about the IRS tax thing. This same farmer tried to beat the IRS and lost that one too.

I especially like how in tax court the burden of proof is on the accused.

I was thinking of a counter protest idea , a bunch or truckers and others get together and work out a plan at 0600 the drop loads of stone , dirt ,sand ,gavel , pit haul anything cheap blocking every way in or out of a city then some one parks the opening shut. staff it for the week take shifts 8 hours , lawn chair and sandwiches , maybe a rifle and side arm.

now we are not barbarians , if a ambulance is coming let it through cop wants in let them in but no business in the city for a week, no deliveries shut it down , give the police and mayors from Monday morning till Friday noon to sort out their cities because what has been happening is unacceptable.

then bring in the end loaders , clear the rock, gavel , dirt , ect sweep it up and haul it back out no harm to the roads no damage , no harm to any persons , monument or statues. just the people who keep america running saying enough fix your city.

get back to work on Monday.

Yup, guilty until proven innocent is quite common these days. A fella from my hometown was accused of sexual assault by an angry stepdaughter, fueled by her angry bitter mother. (ex-wife) Her word against his, no evidence......... even though everybody in town knew this guy was innocent (computer guru) he was hung out to dry.

The burden is on the accused to show that he followed the tax code.

I don't know if that makes quite the statement that trapping them in does.

maybe round one is a 50% of load value driver surcharge on any city with a de-funded PD

Sounds like CHAZ to me...If you want to make a difference, have all of your "brothers" refuse to deliver goods to these deplorable places. It would be extremely HARD, because you would be sacrificing your livelihood, but it WOULD make a statement at least.

In tax court the burden of proof really is on the accused. The IRS levies fines, penalties, seizes assets, and claims unpaid taxes. Then the accused gets to go to court and prove what their income and tax burden really is. If no money is owed then seized assets are returned. No compensation for lost revenue while the IRS has assets in their possession. The burden being on the accused is unconstitutional.

When the exwife and stepdaughter claim stepdad is a pervert the burden of proof is on them. The prosecutor has to go into a courtroom, in front of a jury, and convince 12 people, any one of whom can say no, that your buddy was guilty.

Unless he was guilty, did not want any part of a trial, pled guilty to get a little less punishment.

And yes I remember the farmers going to DC. I was a little worried. Jimmy Carter was a farmer and a big fan of socialism. I was afraid they would get what they wanted. Government to set prices on their commodities according to the cost to produce them. I thought then and still think now that government should get completely out of farming. Let free markets determine prices. Put big tariffs on imported ag commodities that are subsidized by foreign governments.

I remember the old news part that was used later in political ads that said the guy making the cereal box made more then the farmer growing the grain that filled the box.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

I think that's true........like the partial bag of potato chips inflated with air. The bag costs more than the chips inside.
