Just thought I壇 show how I clean frogs. The two things that makes it a smooth process預 very sharp knife with a thin blade and a pair of catfish skinning pliers. My goal is to have a premium end product, no sharp bones allowed. Each foot and leg is cut at the joint with a knife, rather than chopping them with a cleaver or hatchet. As with anything, it takes time to process a lot, so I do it in steps to speed up the process.

First, dispatch all of your frogs. No need to show this, but if someone has any questions about this, send me a PM.

Next, lay them out in rows to take a picture to remember the trip, but also to speed up the cleaning process.

Use catfish skinning pliers to grab the skin on the back, lift, and make a cut. Move on to the next one until they池e all cut.

Fold the rear feet over your knife blade and follow through between the joint for a nice, clean cut. Move on to the next one. Save the feet for catfish or raccoon bait if you want.

Hold the body in one hand and grab the lower edge of the cut skin with skinning pliers to strip the lower legs clean.

Fold the rear legs over your knife and cut through the joint. Repeat until done.

Now you have some of the finest meat there is. Enjoy

Great tutorial. I could have used something like that the first time I caught a mess of frogs. I learned to take a cooler full of ice with me to put my frogs in. By the time I got home to clean them they where cooled down enough they weren稚 jumping around and were very easy to handle. As I don稚 own a skinning pliers with a knife blade I had to use a filet knife to cut across the back. Pounding a sharp nail through a board and sticking the frog on the nail helped to hold them while I was skinning.

Yes, some of the best eating anyone can enjoy.

I have tried those "farm" frogs at restaurants. Pretty awful IMO. I dont think they are even bull frogs. Wild caught frogs are delicious. Those great big ones are getting hard to find around here though.

We're blessed with an abundance of wild frogs here in Louisiana. Crawfish ponds play a huge role in creating massive populations of bull frogs and pig frogs.

We brought the kids this night to catch most of these frogs. They had a blast

Their coloration reminds me of the Vietnam style tiger strip camo.

Didn't realise I miss that sound til I saw this post! We used to catch them with a fly or hula popper when I was a kid. One time we found two living in the bottom of an abandoned well and hoisted them out with the fishing rods. The milkman (remember them?) saw those 2 frogs and was amazed by the size. Turns out he was a frogger.
